Calls

paid on outcome

How a call is opened, followed, scored and paid.

  • open
    a caller, a coin and a horizon
  • follow
buys through the call carry its tag
  • cost
the same fee as buying without the call
  • escrow
each follower's call slice, held to the horizon
  • score
time-weighted exit price over a window of whole minutes, up to two hours
  • ahead
the slice goes to the caller
  • not ahead
the slice goes back to the follower, break-even included
  • settle
    anyone, after the horizon

01A call is an account

A call is a public account on a coin, with a caller and a horizon. Its share link opens the coin with the call ticked, and buys made through it carry the call's tag. Anyone can read who called, when the horizon is, how many followed and where each follower's slice went.

02Opening a call

On a coin's page, open the Calls tab and pick Open a call. Choose a horizon inside the coin's bounds. Horizons align to whole minutes: the requested time is rounded down to a minute boundary, and moved one minute later if that would fall below the shortest horizon.

The scoring window ends at the horizon and lasts the coin's window length, a whole number of minutes, at most two hours.

Opening pays rent for the call account, which comes back when the call closes. A wallet's first call on a coin also opens an 81-byte caller sequence that keeps counting, so an old call address or share link is never reused.

03Following

Buy through the share link with Follow call ticked, before the horizon. The fee is the coin's fee, the same as without the call; the call slice of it is held in your call position until the call settles. Your first tagged buy opens the position and pays its rent, which comes back at settlement. A caller can't tag their own buys.

04How a follower is scored

At the horizon, each follower's tagged tokens are valued at the time-weighted exit price over the scoring window: the coin's price net of the sell fee, weighted by how long each price held. If that value is strictly greater than what the follower paid for those tokens, the follower came out ahead and the slice goes to the caller. Otherwise, break-even included, it goes back to the follower.

Because the price is weighted by time, a pump in the last seconds moves the result only for the seconds it lasted. A caller who sells into their followers during the window lowers the price those followers are scored at. A follower's later sells and transfers don't change what their tagged buys are scored at.

05The price record

Every coin keeps a fixed price record in the program: cumulative price values at 241 whole-minute boundaries, four hours of continuous trading, written by the trades themselves with no keeper. After the horizon anyone can checkpoint a call's window from it, which freezes the result for good; settling checkpoints on its own when needed.

On a coin that trades continuously, the record keeps a window for at least two hours after its horizon. A call whose window was overwritten before anyone checkpointed it settles every remaining follower as an unscored refund: each slice goes back, recorded apart from a loss.

06Settling and getting paid

settle
any wallet, for each follower, after the horizon; keepers checkpoint and settle in the background
ahead
the slice goes to the caller; one too small for an unfunded caller wallet waits in the call account and is claimed later or paid on close
not ahead
the slice goes back to the follower
position rent
goes back to the follower when the position settles
close
the caller closes the call after the horizon once every position has finished, and gets its rent back

07The scorecard

Every caller has a scorecard, reached from the call page and from the wallet menu: calls opened, followers, how many came out ahead, how many didn't, unscored refunds and followers still waiting, the SOL earned and refunded, and every call. It is built from settled outcomes and keeps them after the accounts close.

A caller can't tag their own trades, and every outcome stays on the caller's scorecard.
