Launching a coin on fix works the way people already know, and anyone can do it.
A coin needs a name of up to 32 characters, a ticker of up to 13 and an image. Its metadata lives on the mint.
Creation takes no fee. It costs account rent, paid once: at most 0.05760212 SOL, most of it for the coin's price record. Shorter metadata costs less.
The coin is a Token-2022 mint, and its whole supply goes to its market at creation.
nothing to know first
The creator gets no allocation. There is no team share, no vesting, no unlock and no private round.
Hasu's history of fair launches is a list of early doors: a premine, a faster miner, a stake in the asset needed to take part. A coin on fix has no supply outside its market, so there is no door of that kind to keep.
ZachXBT's account of one token shows what the gap costs: the team, the market maker and the OTC buyers each knew their part, and retail knew the price. With no unlock and no private round, nothing about a coin's supply is known to one person and hidden from another.
No mint authority remains, so nobody can print more. No freeze authority remains, so nobody can lock a wallet.
the curve
The curve is fix's own, written into the same program as everything else that happens to the coin.
From the block after creation, the coin trades on its curve. Every buy pays the curve's price at that moment and every sell receives it, after the same fee for everyone.
The creator buys the same way: in a later block, at the curve's price, with the same fee.
A buy that asks for more than the curve has left takes what remains, and the unused amount stays with the buyer.
The coin's price record starts at creation. Every trade writes to it, it keeps the last four hours minute by minute, and calls are scored against it.
the pool
The pool is fix's own as well, a constant-product pool in the same program.
When the curve sells out, the buy that takes its last token moves the coin into its pool, inside the same instruction.
The pool opens at the curve's last price exactly. Leftover whole token atoms are burned.
There is no migration step, no migration fee and no new account. The liquidity stays in the program, with no LP token and no instruction that withdraws it.
Graduating into another platform's pool would hand a coin that platform's fees and keys at the moment it succeeds. A coin on fix stays in the program it was born in and keeps trading under the terms it was born with.
what stays
Vitalik Buterin argued that the appetite for fun in coins is real, and that it is better to build with it than against it. Launching on fix stays as open and as loud as it already is.
What changes is who gets in first, who can change the terms, what a trade costs and how a caller gets paid. The next four entries take those in turn.
