A call is how one person points others at a coin. On fix a call is an account on chain, and pointing is paid only when it helped.
paid either way
Promotion has paid the same whether followers won or lost. ZachXBT's 2022 thread on one crypto show laid out, step by step, how cheaply bought private-sale allocations were sold into the show's own audience.
Most of it is never disclosed. In one check of 160 accounts, about 155 had not said they were paid.
Some promoters push 15 to 30 projects a month and some pick 3 to 5 a year, and from the outside they look alike.
Mert described the result: followers who believe they will get rich become the exit for whoever came early.
Vitalik Buterin's advice holds for callers as much as anyone: what you do follows the bags you hold. So fix pays callers in a way that points their bags the same way as their followers'.
opening a call
A caller opens a call on a coin and picks a horizon within the coin's bounds. The call gets a share link.
Anyone following it can see that the caller is paid, how, and from what: a slice of each follower's own fee.
Buys made through the link carry the call's tag. Following costs exactly what buying without it costs.
The call slice of each follower's fee is held for that follower until the horizon.
scoring
At the horizon, each follower's tagged buys are scored at the coin's exit price after the fee, averaged over a window that ends at the horizon. Windows run in whole minutes, up to two hours.
A pump in the last seconds can't rewrite the minutes before it, so it can't flip the result.
The price comes from the coin's own price record, written by every trade on its curve and its pool in the same program. No outside price feed is involved.
If the score is above what the follower paid, the follower came out ahead and their slice goes to the caller. If it isn't, break-even included, the slice goes back to the follower.
If the price record no longer holds the window when settlement comes, the follower gets their slice back.
A caller who sells into their followers during the window lowers the price those followers are scored at.
settling
Anyone can checkpoint the window and settle a follower once the horizon passes. A caller can't tag their own trades.
Settlement returns each follower's position rent. The caller closes the call once every follower is settled and gets its rent back.
If a caller's wallet can't yet receive a small payout, it waits in the call account until it can.
the record
Every call and its outcome stays on the caller's scorecard: how many people followed, how many came out ahead, how many didn't, what the caller earned and what went back.
A caller who calls everything and a caller who chooses carefully look different there, and anyone can read it.
